Popular Productions is a busy producer of theatre and entertainment operating from the UK and Middle East with offices in London and Dubai. Founded by John Payton and Lucy Magee in 2004 the company has gone on to produce over 35 major productions and continues to create original, impactful shows for its audiences.
The company's repertoire has included classic musicals such as THE SOUND OF MUSIC, ANNIE, THE WIZARD OF OZ and OLIVER! alongside modern greats such as FAME THE MUSICAL, BLOOD BROTHERS and JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT.
At the same time, drama has always played an important part in the company's repertoire, from productions such as THE WOMAN IN BLACK, LOOK BACK IN ANGER and EDUCATING RITA to comedies like THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE ABRIDGED, STONES IN HIS POCKETS and WHEN HARRY MET SALLY.
In recent years, the company has produced International tours of children's favourites such as Eric Carle's THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR SHOW and Julia Donaldson's STICKMAN.
The company has produced work in London and overseas in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Qatar. Regularly collaborating with the best performers, artists and designers in the business, Popular Productions output has won multiple awards and broken box office records.
